Old Soul Red Blend

Old Soul's Red Blend from California embodies the art of blending through a carefully curated mix of grape varieties, resulting in a wine that is both intriguing and accessible. This red blend showcases a medley of dark fruit flavors, likely dominated by blackberries and plums, with a subtle hint of spice. The wine's body is well-rounded and medium in weight, offering a smooth, velvety texture that coats the palate with each sip. Expect mild tannins that lend structure without overpowering, complemented by a balanced acidity that adds a refreshing lift to the overall profile. While this wine is approachable now, its nuanced complexity suggests a certain potential for short-term aging, allowing its flavors to further integrate over the next few years. Serve it slightly below room temperature, ideally around 60-65°F (15-18°C), to best appreciate its depth and character. For those who enjoy observing a wine's development in the glass, a brief decanting of around 30 minutes can help to accentuate its aromatic potential, revealing more of the wine's layered nature. Pair Old Soul's Red Blend with a variety of dishes that can stand up to its richness yet complement its fruit-forward character. It pairs particularly well with grilled meats, such as lamb or beef, and hearty vegetarian dishes featuring roasted mushrooms or eggplant. For those who prefer cheese, a selection of aged cheddar or gouda will enhance the wine's intrinsic flavors. Opt for a wide-bowled red wine glass to concentrate its bouquet and allow the character of the wine to fully express itself with each swirl. Whether enjoyed now or after a brief cellaring, this red blend offers a consistently rewarding experience for wine enthusiasts who appreciate the craft of blending.
