Description
Snoop Cali Red by 19 Crimes is a bold California red blend that captures the quintessential New World expression of Bordeaux-style wines. Crafted primarily from Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot, this wine promises an enticingly lush profile distinguished by its deep, ripe fruit character. Expect vibrant notes of blackberry and black currant, complemented by subtle whispers of vanilla that arise from its oak aging. The warm Californian sun infuses the wine with robust, ripe flavors, making each sip a vivid experience. With medium to full body, this wine displays a pleasing balance between firm tannins and refreshing acidity, ensuring a smooth yet structured palate. The blend’s Cabernet Sauvignon base delivers the classic backbone of blackberry, while the Merlot introduces softer edges, enhancing the wine's overall approachability and nuance with hints of red fruits. The finish is long and satisfying, leaving an impression of both power and finesse, making it a versatile choice for various occasions. For serving, Snoop Cali Red reveals its optimal character when slightly cooled to about 60–65°F. Decanting is recommended to allow the wine to open up, enhancing its aromatic complexity and depth. A large Bordeaux-style glass will help focus the aromas and allow the wine to breathe, ensuring the full spectrum of scents and flavors can be appreciated. Pair this wine with hearty dishes that can stand up to its intensity, such as grilled steaks, lamb chops, or a rich mushroom risotto. The wine's fruit-forward nature also plays beautifully with dishes featuring dark berries or a reduction sauce. While enjoyable now for its vibrant fruit and structured profile, this wine has the potential to develop further with careful cellaring, enhancing its depth and complexity over the next few years.

Bought it for my cousin who is all about 19 Crimes wines. She liked this one more than I did, good with burgers but felt a bit heavy by the second glass.
Response from CBC Liquors, Westford
Glad your cousin enjoyed the Snoop Cali Red, if you want something lighter next time, check out their Pinot Noir.

Usually go for Apothic Red but tried Snoop Cali Red on a whim. Bit bolder, a little sweeter too. Paired up with pizza night and no regrets, just not as smooth as the usual pick.
