Dough Cabernet Sauvignon

Dough's Cabernet Sauvignon from California presents a classic expression of this renowned varietal, showcasing what enthusiasts have come to appreciate in a well-structured red wine. At 14.0% ABV, this wine offers a balanced profile that harmonizes strength and elegance. Expect the typical cabernet notes of ripe blackcurrant and dark cherry, interlaced with hints of cedar and subtle undertones of tobacco, which highlight its robust character. The body is full, while the tannins are well-integrated, providing a firm yet smooth mouthfeel. The wine's acidity ensures a freshness that lifts its complex layers, with a finish that lingers pleasantly. For optimal enjoyment, this Cabernet Sauvignon should be served at a slightly cooler room temperature, around 60-65°F. Decanting is recommended to allow the wine to breathe and reveal its depth and complexity fully. A large-bowled glass will capture its aromatic bouquet more effectively, allowing you to appreciate every nuance. Pair this versatile wine with rich, hearty dishes. It complements grilled ribeye steaks beautifully, and its tannins stand up well to the bold flavors of roasted lamb. For a vegetarian option, consider dishes featuring roasted mushroom or eggplant, which highlight the wine’s earthy undertones. While this wine is crafted for immediate enjoyment, it also has the potential to develop further with some cellaring. Over time, expect an evolution of its flavors, offering a different tasting experience for those with the patience to wait.
