Wild Turkey Longbranch

Longbranch by Wild Turkey stands out in the crowded world of bourbon with its distinctive balance of smoothness and smoke. A harmonious collaboration with actor Matthew McConaughey, this Kentucky bourbon takes traditional craftsmanship and adds a unique twist. The signature refinement with Texas mesquite and oak charcoals infuses the spirit with a subtle smokiness that complements its rich, classic bourbon undertones. When poured neat, Longbranch reveals layers of flavor that unfold gently on the palate. The initial sip offers a smooth entrance, characterized by vanilla and a soft caramel sweetness, while the mesquite smoke lingers delicately in the background. The complexity of this bourbon truly shines when served over ice, as the cooling effect tempers its natural warmth and accentuates the interplay of sweet and smoky notes. A splash of water can open up the bouquet further, releasing more of its nuanced aromas. Longbranch is not only a delight to sip on its own but also an excellent base for classic cocktails. Its smoky essence and smooth profile make it an ideal candidate for a refined Old Fashioned, where its character can be highlighted with just a dash of bitters and a twist of citrus. The robust flavors also stand up beautifully in a Manhattan, blending seamlessly with sweet vermouth and a cherry garnish to create a cocktail that is both complex and accessible. For those who appreciate the art of whiskey tasting, using a Glencairn glass will enhance the nosing experience, concentrating the aromas for a more immersive enjoyment. Meanwhile, a rocks glass proves perfect for savoring Longbranch over ice, offering the space to appreciate its evolving flavors with each sip.
