Daou Chardonnay

Discover the depth of California's viticultural heritage with DAOU Chardonnay, a wine that embodies the essence of the region's sun-kissed vineyards. This Chardonnay presents a delicate harmony of flavors, where tropical fruits such as pineapple and mango play the lead role, supported by the subtle presence of oak. The result is a wine that is both vibrant and creamy, offering a round body and a smooth mouthfeel that is characteristic of the varietal. DAOU Chardonnay is best enjoyed at a serving temperature of about 50–54°F, which allows its nuanced flavors to unfold gracefully. While decanting is not necessary, allowing the wine to breathe in the glass for a few minutes can enhance its aromatic complexity. A classic white wine glass, with a narrower bowl, is ideal to concentrate its enticing aromas and preserve its crispness. This wine's balanced acidity and gentle oak influence make it a versatile companion to a variety of dishes. Pair it with grilled seafood, such as salmon or shrimp, to complement its freshness, or with creamy pasta dishes that echo its lush texture. It also stands up nicely to poultry dishes and can add a layer of depth when served alongside a cheese platter featuring soft and semi-hard cheeses. While DAOU Chardonnay is crafted to be enjoyed in its youthful exuberance, those with the patience to cellar it will find that it develops additional layers of complexity over a few years. Whether you choose to savor it now or later, this wine promises an exploration of California's rich winemaking tradition in every sip.
