Ravasqueira Vinha De Xisto

Vinha de Xisto, crafted by Ravasqueira, is a distinctive red blend hailing from Portugal's renowned Alentejo region. This wine is an embodiment of the area's unique schist soils, which impart a mineral depth and complexity that discerning palates will appreciate. With an ABV of 14.0%, the wine presents an intriguing balance of richness and refinement, making it a perfect choice for those who enjoy discovering the nuances of terroir-driven wines. On the palate, Vinha de Xisto is expected to reveal a harmonious blend of ripe fruit flavors, complemented by a structured body and subtle tannins. The mineral notes characteristic of its origin add an extra layer of sophistication to the tasting experience. The wine's acidity provides a refreshing balance, making each sip both satisfying and intriguing. This blend is likely to exhibit a lingering finish, inviting contemplation long after the last drop. For the best experience, serve Vinha de Xisto at a slightly cool temperature, ideally around 16-18°C (60-64°F). While decanting isn't essential, allowing the wine some time to breathe will enhance its intricate flavors and aromatic profile. A large-bowled red wine glass will capture its complexity, allowing the aromas to unfold fully. This robust red blend pairs beautifully with hearty dishes, such as grilled meats, roasted lamb, or rich stews, where its depth can truly shine. Its mineral backbone and balanced acidity also complement hard cheeses and charcuterie, making it a versatile choice for food pairings.
