Cooper & Thief Red Blend

Cooper Thief's Red Blend is an intriguing wine that captures the essence of California's rich winemaking tradition, enhanced by an innovative twist. This bold red blend is aged in bourbon barrels, a technique that infuses the wine with layers of complexity and an unmistakable depth. With an ABV of 16.0%, this wine is robust and full-bodied, offering a unique tasting experience that is both powerful and harmonious. Expect notes of ripe blackberries and dark cherries, complemented by subtle hints of vanilla and toasted oak from the bourbon barrel aging. The tannins are well-integrated, providing structure without overshadowing the fruit-forward profile. A balanced acidity brightens the palate, leading to a smooth, lingering finish with a whisper of bourbon warmth. This distinctive character makes it a delightful choice for those who appreciate wines with a bit of an edge. For optimal enjoyment, serve this Red Blend slightly below room temperature, around 60-65°F. While it can be enjoyed straight from the bottle, giving it a brief time in a decanter will allow the flavors to fully open and evolve. Choose a large-bowled red wine glass to concentrate its aromatic intensity and appreciate the full bouquet. Pair Cooper Thief's Red Blend with hearty dishes like grilled steak, lamb stew, or a rich mushroom risotto. Its bold flavors also complement aged cheeses or charcuterie, making it an excellent choice for a diverse spread. While designed to be enjoyed now, this wine's robust character suggests it could benefit from a bit of cellaring, allowing its unique notes to meld even further over time.
