Description
The Maverick Pinot Noir by Four Vines is a testament to the nuanced expression of California's diverse terroir. With an ABV of 13.5%, this Pinot Noir leans towards a balanced profile, capturing the essence of the state's cooler coastal influences while maintaining a subtle richness that is distinctly Californian. The wine typically exudes aromas of ripe red cherries and cranberries, layered with hints of rose petals and earthy undertones. Expect a medium body that provides a gentle mouthfeel, supported by soft tannins and a lively acidity that enhances its fresh fruit character. Ideal for those who appreciate a well-rounded Pinot Noir, the Maverick offers versatility in pairing with food. Its bright acidity and red fruit notes complement dishes such as grilled salmon, roasted poultry, or a mushroom risotto. For a more elevated experience, consider serving it alongside a charcuterie board featuring mild cheeses and cured meats, which will highlight its subtle complexity. For optimal enjoyment, serve the Maverick Pinot Noir at a temperature of around 55-60°F. While decanting is not essential, letting the wine breathe for about 20 minutes can enhance its aromatic profile and smooth out its texture. A classic Pinot Noir glass, with its broad bowl and narrow rim, will allow the wine's delicate aromas to develop, providing a more immersive tasting experience. This wine is crafted for immediate enjoyment but has the potential to age gracefully for a few years. As it matures, you can expect the flavors to deepen, offering even more complexity to those patient enough to let it evolve. Whether you choose to savor it now or set it aside for a special occasion in the future, the Maverick Pinot Noir promises a reflection of its California roots in every glass.

Expected something a bit lighter but it was pretty jammy and rich. Worked better with burgers than salmon for me. Not bad, just fuller than most pinot noirs I've tried.
