Jacks Abby Hoponius Union

Hoponius Union, crafted by Jack’s Abby in Massachusetts, is a pioneering India Pale Lager (IPL) that seamlessly intertwines the vibrant hop characteristics of an IPA with the refined crispness of a lager. With an ABV of 6.5% and an IBU of 65, this beer delivers a balanced yet distinct flavor profile. Expect a burst of tropical fruit and citrus aromas, underscored by a gentle malt backbone that tempers the hops’ bitterness without overpowering the palate. To fully experience the sensory symphony of Hoponius Union, it’s best served chilled between 45 to 50 degrees Fahrenheit. This temperature range optimally showcases its aromatic hop profile while maintaining the refreshing qualities of a lager. A tulip glass or a traditional lager glass will enhance the beer’s aromatic head and allow for proper appreciation of its color and carbonation. When it comes to food pairings, Hoponius Union's versatility shines. Its hoppy, citrus-forward notes are a perfect complement to grilled seafood, especially shrimp or scallops, where the beer’s crispness aligns beautifully with the delicate flavors of the sea. For a heartier pairing, consider dishes with a spicy kick, such as Thai curry or spicy sausages, where the IPL's malt sweetness provides a soothing counterbalance. This is a beer crafted not just for hop enthusiasts but for anyone looking to explore the harmonious intersection of flavor and refreshment.
