Proper Twelve Black Reserve

Black Reserve by Proper Twelve is an Irish whiskey that invites exploration with its intriguing depth and subtly complex character. This whiskey hails from the renowned Speyside region, offering a harmonious blend that showcases the meticulous craftsmanship typical of the area's distillation tradition. Its dark, inviting hue hints at the rich tapestry of flavors waiting within, making it a captivating pour for those seeking more than just a standard sip. Upon nosing, expect a fragrant bouquet that suggests layers of oak and grain, indicative of its careful aging process. These aromas are complemented by a nuanced dance of vanilla and spice, a hallmark of well-crafted Irish whiskeys. On the palate, Black Reserve impresses with a smooth, velvety texture, where hints of sweetness and a whisper of smoke linger, culminating in a lingering finish that beckons for another taste. While Black Reserve can be savored neat to fully appreciate its depth, it also holds its own when served on the rocks, where a touch of dilution brings forward its subtler notes. For those who favor cocktails, this whiskey shines in classic concoctions; its balanced profile enhances the richness of an Old Fashioned or adds a robust backbone to a Manhattan. Its versatility extends to a thoughtfully crafted Whiskey Sour, where its inherent sweetness plays beautifully against citrus notes. When it comes to glassware, a Glencairn glass is recommended for those keen on nosing its aromatic delights, while a rocks glass offers the perfect vessel for sipping, whether neat or on ice. Black Reserve’s adaptable nature and distinguished profile make it a worthy addition to any whiskey collection, offering a taste of Speyside’s finest craftsmanship in every bottle.
