Widow Jane 10 Year

Widow Jane 10 Year Bourbon presents a distinctive exploration into the world of American whiskey, marrying traditional bourbon craftsmanship with a unique finishing touch. This bourbon is crafted from a blend of straight bourbons that have been carefully matured for a decade. What sets it apart is its final aging in barrels that previously held Hudson Valley’s Crown Maple syrup, imparting an inviting layer of sweetness and complexity to the spirit. On the nose, expect a rich bouquet that combines classic bourbon notes of charred oak and vanilla with a subtle hint of maple sweetness, gently teasing the senses. When sipped, Widow Jane 10 Year reveals layers of caramel and toffee, enriched by a delicate spiciness that lingers through the finish. The maple barrel finish adds a nuanced sweetness that is neither overpowering nor cloying, creating a balanced profile that bourbon enthusiasts will appreciate. This bourbon is versatile in how it can be served. Neat, it offers a pure taste experience that allows its complex flavors to shine. A few drops of water can open up the aroma, revealing deeper vanilla notes and a touch of spice. Alternatively, served on the rocks, the gradual dilution mellows the sweetness, making it an ideal sip for a relaxed evening. While Widow Jane 10 Year can stand on its own, it also complements classic bourbon cocktails. Its flavor profile makes it a superb choice for a Manhattan, where the maple-infused notes harmonize with sweet vermouth and bitters. For those who prefer a more straightforward approach, a simple Old Fashioned with just a hint of orange zest can further elevate its nuanced flavors. For nosing, a Glencairn glass is recommended to appreciate its aromatic depth, while a rocks glass is perfect for those who enjoy it with ice. This bourbon exemplifies the artistry in blending and finishing, offering a distinct American spirit that is both rich and inviting.
