Four Roses Yellow Bourbon

Four Roses Bourbon is a quintessential Kentucky straight bourbon that showcases the art of blending through its intricate recipe makeup. Crafted with a dual mash bill approach, this bourbon artfully combines two distinct grain profiles: one with 60% corn, 35% rye, and 5% malted barley, and the other with 75% corn, 20% rye, and 5% malted barley. This blend is further enriched by the use of up to five proprietary yeast strains, contributing to its complexity and depth. On the palate, Four Roses Bourbon reveals an enticing balance of flavors. The higher corn content in one of the mash bills imparts a pleasing sweetness, while the rye adds a hint of spice and a touch of heat, creating a harmonious dance of flavors. Expect subtle notes of vanilla and a gentle, fruity essence that evolves into a warm, slightly oaky finish. With an ABV of 40.0%, it delivers a smooth and approachable drinking experience that is both versatile and richly layered. For those who enjoy savoring their whiskey in its purest form, this bourbon shines when served neat in a Glencairn glass, allowing its nuanced aromas to fully develop. If preferred, a splash of water can open up additional layers of flavor, making it an inviting option for different palates. The bourbon also holds its own on the rocks, where the gradual dilution from ice emphasizes its sweet and spicy character. Four Roses Bourbon is a versatile base for classic cocktails. Its balanced profile makes it a splendid choice for an Old Fashioned, where its sweetness complements the bitters and orange peel. It also excels in a Manhattan, offering a robust backbone that pairs beautifully with sweet vermouth and a cherry garnish. Regardless of how you choose to enjoy it, this bourbon embodies the rich tradition of Kentucky craftsmanship, delivering a genuine taste of the American whiskey heritage.
