Clyde Mays Special Reserve 6 Year

Clyde May's Special Reserve 6 Year is a bourbon that embodies the rich heritage of Alabama, offering a unique tasting experience that will captivate any serious whiskey aficionado. With an impressive ABV of 55.0, this special reserve exudes intensity and depth, making it a robust choice for those who appreciate the finer nuances of a well-crafted spirit. Aged for six years, it develops a complexity that balances the traditional caramel and vanilla notes with a distinctive spice, characteristic of its Southern roots. When enjoying Clyde May's Special Reserve, consider savoring it neat or with a splash of water to appreciate its hearty profile and nuanced flavors. The water can help open up the bourbon, revealing subtle hints of oak and char that are beautifully melded with its inherent sweetness. For those who prefer their whiskey chilled, serving it over a large ice cube in a rocks glass can temper its potency without diluting its character too quickly. This bourbon's bold profile makes it an excellent candidate for classic cocktails. It stands out in an Old Fashioned, where its rich flavors harmonize perfectly with bitters and a touch of sugar, creating a drink that is both timeless and satisfying. Alternatively, it can serve as the star in a Manhattan, where its complexity is complemented by sweet vermouth and the subtle bitterness of Angostura bitters. Using a Glencairn glass will enhance your nosing experience, allowing you to fully explore the aromatic layers of Clyde May’s Special Reserve. Whether you’re a seasoned bourbon lover or new to the intricacies of this Southern spirit, this six-year-old expression offers a journey into a world of rich flavors and artisanal craftsmanship that is distinctly Clyde May's.
