Mermaid Small Batch Gin

Mermaid Small Batch Gin from the Isle of Wight Distillery offers a distinctive blend of botanicals, embodying a sense of place with every pour. At its core, this gin is a harmonious blend of traditional juniper and citrus notes, elevated by the unique addition of locally sourced rock samphire, elderflower, and Boadicea hops. This combination results in a fresh, subtly coastal character that lingers on the palate, making each sip a delightful exploration of layered flavors and aromas. This gin's juniper-forward profile with a twist of citrus creates a versatile base that shines in a variety of classic cocktails. A Gin & Tonic made with Mermaid Small Batch Gin benefits from a generous garnish of lime or lemon, which complements the gin’s citrus notes, while a sprig of rosemary or thyme can enhance the coastal hints from the rock samphire. For those who appreciate the complexity of a Negroni, this gin's layered finish provides a distinctive touch, balancing the bitterness of the Campari with its nuanced depth. In a Martini, the elderflower’s subtle floral notes come to the forefront, best savored with a twist or an olive depending on preference. A refreshing Tom Collins also benefits from this gin's character, with the effervescence lifting the subtle hop notes beautifully. When serving Mermaid Small Batch Gin, consider using a balloon glass for a Gin & Tonic to fully enjoy the aromatic botanicals, or a classic highball for a Tom Collins to showcase its refreshing quality. Abundant ice is essential to maintain the gin’s crispness, and the addition of a citrus or herb garnish will accentuate its natural flavors. Whether crafting cocktails or enjoying it neat, this gin promises a distinct experience rooted in the unique and storied landscape of the Isle of Wight.
