Barrell Craft Seagrass Rye

Seagrass Rye by Barrell Craft stands as a testament to the artistry of whiskey blending, offering a unique take on traditional rye with a modern twist. Crafted in Kentucky, this rye whiskey is distinguished by its innovative finishing process that employs a trio of casks: Martinique Rhum Agricole, Madeira, and apricot brandy. This approach infuses the spirit with an array of flavors that transform it into an experience both complex and lively. With an impressive ABV of 59.2%, Seagrass Rye captures the essence of robust rye character while embracing a vibrant tapestry of tropical and fruity notes. On the nose, expect a symphony of aromas that blend the grassy undertones typical of rye with a sweet and slightly tangy burst of apricot and exotic fruits. As you sip, the palate unfolds with layers of spice and oak intertwined seamlessly with the luscious sweetness derived from the Madeira and apricot brandy casks. The finish is long and satisfying, leaving hints of rhum agricole's earthy sugarcane and a lingering warmth. Seagrass Rye is best savored either neat or with a few drops of water to unleash its full aromatic potential and complexity. For those who prefer a cooler sip, serving it on the rocks allows the flavors to evolve beautifully as the ice melts. This rye's dynamic profile also makes it a fantastic choice for a classic cocktail like a Manhattan, where it can shine through with its distinct character while complementing the vermouth and bitters. For the whiskey enthusiast, a Glencairn glass is ideal for nosing and exploring the intricate bouquet Seagrass Rye offers. For those enjoying it over ice, a solid rocks glass provides the perfect vessel to appreciate the whiskey's gradual transformation. Whether you're exploring the rich world of rye for the first time or are a seasoned connoisseur, Seagrass Rye invites you to experience a whiskey that is as innovative as it is delightful.
