Description
Introducing the Rose Flower Lambiek from Oud Beersel, a captivating sour beer that both honors the region's rich brewing heritage and showcases innovative craftsmanship. Nestled in the heart of Belgium's Flemish Brabant, Oud Beersel stands as a guardian of traditional lambic techniques, and this particular brew embodies that dedication. With an ABV of 7%, this lambic offers a unique fermentation process grounded in spontaneous fermentation, a method made possible by the distinctive microflora of the Pajottenland region and the Zenne Valley. Expect a sensory journey with the Rose Flower Lambiek, where floral notes delicately weave through a tapestry of tart, fruity flavors. This lambic's aroma is reminiscent of a sunlit garden, with subtle hints of rose complementing its sour profile. The body is light and effervescent, allowing the intricate bouquet to shine without overwhelming the palate. As is typical with lambics, you won't find the bitterness associated with hops here; the focus is entirely on the harmonious balance between acidity and sweet fruitiness. The finish is clean and refreshingly crisp, inviting another sip. To truly appreciate the Rose Flower Lambiek, serve it slightly chilled, ideally between 40 to 45 degrees Fahrenheit, in a tulip glass, which will enhance its aromatic qualities. While decanting isn't necessary, allowing it a moment to breathe in the glass can open up its floral and fruity bouquet. This lambic pairs beautifully with a range of dishes; consider it alongside goat cheese tartlets, smoked salmon, or even a light fruit dessert to complement its natural sweetness and acidity. Though delightful when consumed now, the Rose Flower Lambiek holds potential for aging. Over time, its flavors will continue to evolve, offering a deeper complexity to those with the patience to cellar it. Whether you're an enthusiast of traditional lambics or exploring sour beers for the first time, this lambic promises a distinctive and refined taste experience, characteristic of Oud Beersel's dedication to brewing excellence.

Birthday dinner for my sister, poured this with the chocolate cake. The rose comes through more than I expected, a little on the sweet side but everybody had another pour. Not sure I could do more than one bottle in a night.
