Description
Oude Mure Lancienne by Tilquin is a compelling exploration into the world of Belgian Lambics, hailing from the storied region of Wallonia. This sour beer is a testament to the artistry of wild fermentation, crafted with a meticulous blend of traditional techniques and a modern twist of fresh blackberries. Expect a vibrant 6.4% ABV that perfectly balances the tart acidity with the natural sweetness of the fruit, offering a layered complexity that demands attention. The allure of this Lambic lies in its intricate flavor profile, where the initial burst of tangy tartness gradually mellows into the lush, ripe essence of blackberries. The wild fermentation process contributes a subtle funkiness, a hallmark of the style, which complements the fruity undertones and invites the palate to explore further. While savoring this beer, consider its rich tapestry of flavors an ideal complement to dishes like creamy goat cheese, roasted duck, or even a well-charred grilled brisket, each pairing accentuating different facets of its character. For optimal enjoyment, serve Oude Mure Lancienne slightly chilled, around 45-50°F, to allow its nuanced aromas to unfurl gently. Pour it into a tulip glass, whose shape is designed to concentrate the complex aromas and enhance the drinking experience. As you raise the glass, take a moment to appreciate the deep, ruby-hued body and the delicate effervescence, a visual prelude to the expressive taste journey that awaits. This beer is not just a drink but a narrative of tradition meeting innovation, a bottle that tells the story of its origins with every sip. Whether paired with food or enjoyed on its own, Oude Mure Lancienne offers a glimpse into the rich heritage of Belgian brewing, promising a taste that is both timeless and refreshingly contemporary.

Buddy brought this to share at game night. Blackberry flavor comes through but still super tart, almost puckering. Pretty cool gift but one glass was enough for me, bit much after a while.
