Description
Original No 1 Whiskey from McDowell's is an Indian single malt whiskey from Karnataka, India, at 42.8% ABV. It is smooth and approachable, with grain and malt, gentle oak, faint vanilla and a little spice, and no heavy smoke. Drink it neat, with a splash of cool water, or over ice. It also works as the base for an Old Fashioned or a Manhattan. CBC Liquors in Westford carries it, available in store, for pickup, for delivery or by shipping.
Customer reviews
Solid basic whiskey that works for mixing or sipping after dinner.

Appreciate your verdict on McDowell's. If you want another Indian whisky to try, we sometimes have Amrut too. - Tom
Tastes fine but kinda flat in cocktails
Response from CBC Liquors, Westford
Fair take on McDowell's. Might work better neat or with just a splash of water next time - Dan
Sneaky strong for just 42 percent. Had two with cola and felt it more than expected.
Response from CBC Liquors, Westford
Yeah, McDowell's Original does seem to sneak up on folks. If you ever want something lighter, we can point you to some blends.
Grabbed it for a casual Friday night and honestly might keep a bottle around. Not bad at all for the price, smooth enough over ice, would get again.
