Description
Bedell Merlot, a distinguished red from the North Fork of Long Island, captures the essence of its unique terroir in every pour. With an ABV of 13.5%, this wine balances power and elegance, showcasing ripe fruit flavors that are a hallmark of the region. Expect notes of plum and black cherry interwoven with subtle earthy undertones, offering a tasting experience that is both vibrant and layered. The body is medium to full, with tannins that are velvety yet structured, providing a smooth mouthfeel that leads to a lingering finish. This Merlot shines when served at a temperature of around 60-65°F, allowing its nuanced flavors to fully develop. Pouring it into a wide-bowled glass enhances the aromatic profile, bringing out the wine's intricate bouquet. While decanting isn't strictly necessary, allowing it to breathe for about 20 minutes can further accentuate its complexity, making every sip a delight. Perfect for pairing with a variety of dishes, Bedell Merlot complements rich, savory flavors beautifully. Consider serving it alongside grilled lamb chops, mushroom risotto, or a hearty beef stew. The wine’s fruit-forward character also pairs well with a selection of aged cheeses, making it an excellent choice for a charcuterie board. While this Merlot is ready to enjoy now, it has the potential to age gracefully over the next few years, rewarding those who choose to cellar it with even deeper flavors and refined texture. Whether you're a seasoned oenophile or a casual wine enthusiast, Bedell Merlot offers a genuine taste of Long Island’s winemaking prowess.

Good to hear you liked Bedell. If you're looking for something a little bolder next time, check out the Roanoke Cab right next to it on the shelf. - Tom

Had a glass neat with takeout pizza, hit the spot. Not super bold, kind of mellow after a few sips.

Figured it would be heavy but actually went down pretty easy with burgers. Pleasant surprise, not as dense as most Merlots I've had.
