Description
Maximator from Augustiner Brau is a Bavarian doppelbock, a strong German lager at 7.5% ABV with a rich, malt-forward character. It comes from Bavaria and pours a deep amber, with caramel and toasted malt, hints of dark fruit and a touch of nuttiness. Bitterness is restrained at 18 IBU, so the malt leads to a smooth finish. Serve it lightly chilled, around 50 to 55°F, in a tulip or snifter glass. It suits roasted meats, stews and aged cheeses. You can buy Augustiner Maximator from CBC Liquors in Westford in store, for pickup or by delivery.
Customer reviews
That six pack disappeared in two evenings between three of us. Heavy and strong so you dont crush them too fast.
Response from CBC Liquors, Westford
It does go quick with friends around. Might be worth grabbing some Ayinger Celebrator next time if you want to compare bocks.
Cold night, fire going, Maximator hit just right. Big malty flavor that fit the weather perfectly. Would buy again for a winter night in.
