Lexington Kentucky Bourbon Ale

From the heart of Kentucky, Lexington Brewing & Distilling Co. presents their renowned Kentucky Bourbon Ale—a unique specialty beer that marries the rich heritage of brewing and distilling. This ale is a testament to the distinct character forged in the Bluegrass State, where the art of beer and bourbon creation intertwine seamlessly. With an alcohol by volume (ABV) of 8.2% and an International Bitterness Unit (IBU) of 19, this ale is crafted for those who appreciate a smooth yet robust drink. The Kentucky Bourbon Ale captivates with its brilliant amber hue and tantalizing aroma. Expect a harmonious blend of malt sweetness and the unmistakable notes drawn from freshly decanted bourbon barrels. The subtleties of vanilla, caramel, and oak gracefully emerge, offering a complex palate that balances the warmth of bourbon with the refreshing qualities of a fine ale. Sipping this brew neat allows you to savor its intricate flavors fully, but serving it slightly chilled in a tulip glass can enhance its aromatic nuances and provide a fuller tasting experience. Although excellent on its own, the Kentucky Bourbon Ale also works well in a beer cocktail, where its bourbon-barrel undertones can add depth to a classic Whiskey Sour or complement the bitters in an Old Fashioned. For those who enjoy experimenting, try it in a Bourbon Barrel Shandy—a delightful fusion with fresh lemonade that emphasizes its sweet and oaky notes. Whether you're enjoying it straight or creatively mixed, the ale's versatile nature makes it a standout choice for enthusiasts and casual drinkers alike. For pairing, consider dishes that mirror its richness—think grilled meats, smoked cheeses, or even a dark chocolate dessert to complement its bourbon-infused sweetness. However you choose to enjoy it, Kentucky Bourbon Ale offers a unique opportunity to explore the melding of brewing and distilling excellence, capturing the spirit of Kentucky in every sip.
