Description
Houblon Chouffe emerges from the storied Ardennes region, crafted by the innovative minds at D'ACHOUFFE. This Belgian-style beer invites you into a world where tradition meets creativity, resulting in a distinguished brew with a notable ABV of 9% and an IBU of 47. Expect a symphony of flavors characteristic of Belgian beers, where the hops take center stage, providing a balanced bitterness that intertwines with subtle malt sweetness. The lively effervescence and golden hue are reminiscent of the classic Belgian Tripel, yet Houblon Chouffe stands out with its own hoppy flourish. As you pour this beer into a tulip glass, you’ll notice its rich, foamy head that beautifully retains the aromas within. Serving it slightly chilled, between 8 to 10 degrees Celsius, allows the complex flavors to unravel, revealing hints of citrus and spice alongside the dominant hop profile. The tulip glass not only captures its aromatic bouquet but also enhances the visual appeal of its vibrant, golden color. Pair Houblon Chouffe with dishes that complement and accentuate its robust character. The beer’s hop-forward nature pairs beautifully with creamy cheeses, like a tangy blue cheese or a rich brie, balancing the bitterness with creamy textures. For heartier fare, consider roasted chicken or grilled salmon, where the beer’s nuanced bitterness can cut through the richness of the dish, offering a delightful contrast. Whether you’re enjoying a casual meal or a more elaborate culinary experience, Houblon Chouffe promises to add a distinctive touch to your table. Experience the essence of Belgian brewing tradition with every sip of Houblon Chouffe, a beer that not only reflects the heritage of its Ardennes origin but also the passion and innovation of its creators. This is more than just a drink; it’s a testament to the adventurous spirit and dedication embedded in every bottle from D'ACHOUFFE.

Usually drink Duvel when I want something Belgian and high ABV. This was ok but not as smooth for my taste.
Store response
Duvel and Houblon Chouffe do go different ways. If you like smoother, try St. Bernardus next time.

Started off strong, the hops actually surprised me for a Belgian. Not an everyday beer for me but I'll grab it again once in a while.
Store response
Some folks love Houblon Chouffe for that hoppy twist, even if it's not their go-to. If you ever want something similar with a bit less bite, check out La Chouffe.
