Garrison Brothers Guadalupe

Garrison Brothers Guadalupe is a Texas bourbon that stands out with its distinctive finishing process in port wine casks. This technique imparts a luxurious layer of complexity, distinguishing it from the usual bourbon fare. At an assertive 53.5% ABV, this spirited offering captures the adventurous spirit of its Texas origins while delivering a harmonious blend of sweet and spicy notes. Expect a nose brimming with enticing aromas of dark fruit, likely a nod to the port cask influence, intertwined with the classic bourbon elements of vanilla and charred oak. On the palate, this bourbon reveals an intricate dance of flavors: the initial wave of sweetness, reminiscent of rich caramel and ripe berries, gives way to a spicy undertone that hints at cinnamon and nutmeg. The finish is smooth yet robust, leaving a lingering warmth that invites contemplation. When it comes to serving, Guadalupe Bourbon is versatile enough to be enjoyed neat, allowing its full spectrum of flavors to unfold undisturbed. Adding a splash of water can open up the aromatic bouquet, enhancing the subtler fruity notes, while serving it on the rocks may temper its fiery edge for those who prefer a cooler sip. For cocktail enthusiasts, this bourbon shines in a classic Old Fashioned, where its complexity adds depth, or in a Manhattan, where the port finish can be beautifully complemented by sweet vermouth and bitters. For those who appreciate the nuances of a well-crafted bourbon, using a Glencairn glass will enhance the nosing experience, while a sturdy rocks glass is perfect for a more leisurely sip. Whether shared among friends or savored solo, Garrison Brothers Guadalupe offers a taste of Texas craftsmanship, promising a bourbon experience that is both robust and refined.
