Description
Hailing from the picturesque region of Alsace, France, the Gewurztraminer by HUGEL is a vibrant expression of this storied varietal. With an ABV of 13.5%, this wine is notable for its striking aromatic profile, where floral aromas intertwine seamlessly with subtle spice, creating a rich tapestry of scents that invite exploration. The wine greets the palate with a burst of lychee and rose petal, typical of the Gewurztraminer style, while hints of ginger and nutmeg add an intriguing complexity. Medium to full-bodied, this wine presents a lush mouthfeel balanced by moderate acidity, making it a versatile companion at the table. Its subtle tannins and absence of oak allow the natural fruit and spice characteristics to shine through. The finish is smooth and persistent, leaving a lasting impression of its unique aromatic qualities. Serve this Gewurztraminer slightly chilled, ideally around 50°F (10°C), to fully appreciate its aromatic potential. While it does not require decanting, allowing it to breathe for a few minutes after pouring can further enhance its expressive bouquet. The ideal glassware is a standard white wine glass with a slightly tapered rim to concentrate the aromas. This wine's distinctive profile pairs beautifully with a range of dishes, making it an excellent choice for diverse culinary pairings. It complements spicy Asian cuisine, aromatic Indian dishes, and rich seafood options like crab or lobster, where its spice and floral notes can play against bolder flavors. Enjoy it now for its aromatic intensity or hold onto it for a few years to see how it evolves with time.

Super smooth and easy drinking, went down fast with our curry night. No burn at all, just clean and fresh.
Response from CBC Liquors, Westford
Glad the Hugel worked so well with your curry. If you want another smooth one next time, try the Trimbach too.
Was looking for something on the sweeter side but this was a little more spicy than I expected. Still nice with Thai takeout, just not quite as floral as some other Gewurzes I've tried.
