Chehalem Chardonnay

Chehalem Chardonnay from Oregon's renowned Willamette Valley captures the essence of its origin with a crisp and refreshing character that speaks to the region's cool-climate viticulture. Expect lively notes of green apple and pear, beautifully balanced by subtle hints of citrus. The wine's minerality, a signature of the Willamette Valley terroir, weaves through the palate, adding depth and complexity. With a moderate 13.5% ABV, this Chardonnay offers a harmonious blend of acidity and fruit, ensuring a clean and invigorating finish. In terms of pairing, Chehalem Chardonnay shines alongside seafood dishes, such as grilled salmon or seared scallops, where its crispness complements the richness of the fish. It also pairs well with roasted chicken or creamy pasta dishes, where its bright acidity can balance more delicate flavors. This wine is best served at a cool 50-55°F to fully appreciate its nuanced profile, and while it is delightful from the moment you uncork it, allowing it to breathe in a decanter for 20-30 minutes can open up its aromatic layers. For serving, opt for a classic Chardonnay glass, which will help concentrate the wine's aroma while allowing enough space for it to breathe. Chehalem Chardonnay is crafted to be enjoyed now, but it also has the potential to evolve gracefully over the next few years. This makes it a versatile choice, whether you're looking to delight in its immediate freshness or explore its development with a bit of cellaring.
