Description
Portillo Salentein Cabernet Sauvignon, hailing from Argentina's esteemed Uco Valley, is a vibrant expression of this classic grape variety. With an ABV of 13.5%, this wine is celebrated for its rich flavors and well-defined structure. Expect a full-bodied experience where notes of dark berries, such as blackcurrant and plum, intertwine with subtle hints of spice and a touch of earthy undertones. The tannins in this wine are firm yet well-integrated, providing a balanced texture that is complemented by a lively acidity, making each sip both refreshing and robust. To truly appreciate this Cabernet Sauvignon, consider pairing it with hearty dishes. The wine's depth and complexity make it a perfect companion for grilled meats, especially beef or lamb, and it also pairs beautifully with aged cheeses. For an optimal experience, serve this wine at a temperature of around 60-65°F, which will enhance its aromatic profile and allow the flavors to unfold elegantly. While decanting is not necessary, allowing the wine to breathe for a short period can help in rounding out its tannins and accentuating its nuanced flavors. When it comes to glassware, a large Bordeaux glass will best capture the wine's aromatic bouquet, allowing you to enjoy its depth fully. While Portillo Salentein Cabernet Sauvignon is crafted to be enjoyed now, it also has the potential to develop further complexity with a few years of careful aging. Whether savored immediately or tucked away for a special future occasion, this wine offers a taste of Argentinean craftsmanship that is both inviting and memorable.

Good call pairing Portillo Cab with steak tips, next time try it with BBQ too
-
Bit softer than Trapiche but still decent with lasagna. Not quite as much depth but honestly fine at this price point.

Ribeye on the cast iron and this bottle. Really solid for under ten bucks, good structure without being too heavy. Saving a second one for burgers next week.
