High West Bourbon

High West's American Prairie Bourbon is a testament to the art of blending, skillfully combining three distinct bourbons to create a balanced and nuanced spirit. This blend features a 2-year-old bourbon from Indiana with a mashbill of 75% corn, 20% rye, and 5% barley malt, along with a 6-year and a 13-year bourbon from Kentucky. The result is a harmonious expression that captures the essence of traditional American bourbon-making, all bottled in Utah. Expect a delightful dance of flavors on the palate. The high corn content lends a touch of sweetness, reminiscent of caramel and vanilla, while the rye adds a hint of spice that lingers pleasantly. The older bourbons contribute layers of complexity with notes of charred oak and a whisper of smoke, all beautifully integrated into a smooth, rich finish. Bottled at 46% ABV and non-chill-filtered, this bourbon retains a full-bodied character that's best appreciated in thoughtful sips. For the purist, American Prairie Bourbon is ideal when served neat in a Glencairn glass, which allows the full spectrum of aromas to unfold. If you prefer a slightly softer edge, a splash of water or a single ice cube in a rocks glass can open up additional layers of flavor without diluting its integrity. This bourbon also shines in classic cocktails; it forms the backbone of an exceptional Old Fashioned, where its sweet-spice profile is complemented by bitters and a twist of citrus. Alternatively, it can enhance the boldness of a Manhattan or add depth to a Whiskey Sour. American Prairie Bourbon is more than just a spirit; it's an experience in craft that reflects the diversity and richness of American whiskey. Whether enjoyed alone or as the star of your favorite cocktail, it's a versatile addition to any whiskey lover's collection.
