90+ Cellars Barbaresco 181

Barbaresco 181, crafted by 90+ Cellars in California, takes inspiration from the dignified Nebbiolo wines of Piedmont, Italy. This Barbaresco is a testament to the elegance and finesse that the Nebbiolo grape can achieve, offering a captivating blend of tart berry flavors, reminiscent of cranberries and cherries, imbued with subtle notes of cardamom, potpourri, and a hint of dry earth. Its light reddish-orange hue belies the depth of flavor within, providing a vibrant, layered taste that evolves with every sip. High acidity and firm tannins mark this wine, characteristics that promise even greater complexity with a few years of cellaring. Though approachable now, allowing this bottle to rest will reward you with an even more nuanced aroma and flavor profile. For immediate enjoyment, decanting is recommended to let the wine breathe and fully express its aromatic potential. Serve it slightly below room temperature, around 60-65°F, in a large-bowled glass to capture its fragrant bouquet and enhance its textured layers. Barbaresco 181 pairs beautifully with rich dishes that can match its robust structure. Think of savory risottos, mushroom-based dishes, or roasted meats that can stand up to its vibrant acidity and tannic grip. Its earthy undertones and spiced notes make it equally delightful with aged cheeses, where the flavors interplay harmoniously. A wine that gracefully marries power with elegance, Barbaresco 181 is a sophisticated choice for those who appreciate the complexity of Nebbiolo. Whether you're exploring the world of Italian-inspired wines or revisiting a classic, this bottle invites you to savor its distinctive character, whether today or in years to come as it matures.
