Widow Jane Applewood Rye

Applewood Rye by Widow Jane stands as a testament to the innovative spirit of New York's whiskey craft. Characterized by its 45.5% ABV, this rye whiskey captures the imagination with a bold interplay of spice and fruit notes, elevated by its maturation in applewood casks. The unique barrel aging introduces a whisper of apple aroma, seamlessly entwined with the whiskey's inherent spice, creating an unexpectedly harmonious bouquet. On the palate, the applewood aging delivers a smooth, balanced finish that lingers delicately, inviting contemplation with every sip. When it comes to serving Applewood Rye, its nuanced profile is best appreciated neat in a Glencairn glass, allowing its aroma to concentrate and reveal its intricate layers. For those who prefer a slight chill, a single large ice cube in a rocks glass can open up the whiskey without diluting its character, while a splash of water serves to draw out its more subtle notes, enhancing the interplay of fruit and spice. In cocktails, Applewood Rye shines, particularly in classics like the Old Fashioned, where its apple-infused undertones augment the sweetness of sugar and the bitterness of bitters, creating a cocktail that is both familiar and new. It can also add a distinctive twist to a Manhattan, where its fruity backdrop complements the vermouth's herbal complexity, resulting in a drink that's both rich and refreshing. Whether enjoyed on its own or as the heart of a well-crafted cocktail, Applewood Rye by Widow Jane delivers a distinctive experience, offering a remarkable expression of rye craftsmanship with a New York twist.
