Don Julio 1942 is an añejo tequila from the Los Altos region of Jalisco, Mexico, bottled at 40% ABV and aged at least two and a half years. An añejo is aged in oak, which here brings notes of vanilla, toasted almond and cinnamon alongside the sweetness of agave. First tried this at a wedding and came back here to grab my own bottle. Did not disappoint again.
Birthday dinner with friends, had to get something special. Whole table was impressed, barely lasted an hour.
