Del Maguey Vida De Muertos

Del Maguey's Vida De Muertos mezcal stands as a spirited tribute to the rich traditions of Oaxaca, Mexico, capturing the essence of Día de los Muertos in every bottle. This special edition mezcal boasts an intricate tapestry of flavors, offering enthusiasts a unique tasting experience. True to the artisanal methods of its region, Vida De Muertos is distilled at 45% ABV, providing a bold yet balanced canvas of agave character that appeals to both seasoned mezcal aficionados and curious newcomers alike. The mezcal's profile reveals a symphony of earthy and smoky notes, underpinned by the sweet, vegetal complexity typical of Oaxacan agave. As you savor each sip, expect nuances of citrus and subtle pepper, which gracefully unfold on the palate. Unlike tequila, this mezcal's depth is derived from its traditional production process, which imparts a nuanced smokiness that sets it apart from its counterparts. While Vida De Muertos is exquisite when enjoyed neat, its robust character also shines when incorporated into well-crafted cocktails. The classic Margarita gains an intriguing dimension with its introduction, while a Paloma embellished with Vida De Muertos offers a refreshing twist on the familiar. For those who prefer to savor their spirits neat, serving Vida De Muertos in a traditional caballito glass allows its complex aromas to develop fully. If you choose to enjoy it over ice, a rocks glass will suffice, gently tempering the mezcal's intensity without overshadowing its rich flavors. Complementing this mezcal with a side of citrus—such as a wedge of orange sprinkled with a hint of sal de gusano—enhances the tasting experience, aligning seamlessly with its cultural roots. Whether you're crafting a cocktail or sipping it solo, Vida De Muertos offers a versatile and authentic reflection of Oaxaca's vibrant spirit tradition.
