Carlson Sparkling NA Lemonade

Carlson's Sparkling NA Lemonade is a non-alcoholic, carbonated lemonade, so it is a different thing from wine despite sitting near it in a liquor store. Expect a bright citrus-forward profile: tart lemon on the front palate, a sweet-sour balance typical of the style, and a lively fizz that lifts the finish and leaves the mouth clean. There are no tannins and no oak, and the body is light and spritzy. The producer's exact sweetness level and ingredient list aren't given here, so check the label for those details. Serve it well chilled, around 3 to 5°C (roughly 38 to 41°F). Cold liquid holds carbonation better and keeps the lemon crisp rather than syrupy. Pour it over plenty of ice in a highball or tall tumbler, or into a stemmed wine or flute-style glass for a more formal table. A thin lemon wheel or a sprig of mint suits it. Don't decant, since that only strips out the bubbles. Pour gently down the side of a tilted glass and open it only when you're ready to serve. This bottle is meant to be drunk now. Sparkling soft drinks don't improve with age, and the fizz fades once the seal is broken, so finish it within a day and keep it cold in the meantime. For food, the acidity and carbonation work like a squeeze of citrus. Fried chicken, fish and chips, grilled shrimp, salty snacks, tacos and barbecue all benefit, because the bubbles cut through fat and salt. It also pairs with lighter fare such as salads, goat cheese and shortbread. It also works as a base for non-alcoholic spritzers, mixed with fresh herbs, a splash of cranberry or ginger beer, or a few dashes of bitters for guests who aren't drinking alcohol.
