Finback Rolling in Clouds

Rolling in Clouds by Finback is a New England IPA that showcases the hallmark hazy appearance and lush tropical fruit profile characteristic of this beloved style. Hailing from New York, this beer is an exploration of juicy hop dynamics, offering a sensory experience that IPA aficionados will find both familiar and intriguing. At 8.1% ABV, it balances potency with drinkability, making it a robust yet approachable option for those who appreciate a fuller-bodied IPA. The first pour reveals a cloudy, golden hue, capped with a frothy white head that releases an aroma rich with notes of ripe mango, pineapple, and a whisper of citrus zest. The use of hops in this brew leans heavily into the fruit-forward spectrum, delivering flavors reminiscent of freshly crushed tropical fruit with each sip. The bitterness is subtle, providing just enough counterpoint to keep the sweetness in check, while a smooth, creamy mouthfeel rounds out the experience. To fully appreciate the vibrant flavors and aroma of Rolling in Clouds, serve it slightly chilled, around 45 to 50 degrees Fahrenheit. This temperature allows the complex hop oils to shine without muting the beer's natural effervescence. A tulip glass is ideal, as its bulbous shape helps concentrate the aromatic compounds while also providing ample space for the beer's head to develop. When it comes to pairing, this New England IPA's tropical notes make it a versatile companion to a variety of dishes. Consider matching it with spicy fare such as Thai curry or jerk chicken, where the beer's fruitiness can complement the heat, or pair it with grilled seafood, where its creamy texture will enhance the meal's richness. Whether you're exploring new culinary combinations or simply enjoying the beer on its own, Rolling in Clouds promises a flavorful experience tailored for those who truly appreciate the art of hop-forward brewing.
