Description
Originating from the fertile lands of Los Altos, Jalisco, Don Julio Reposado Tequila encapsulates the vibrant spirit of the Mexican highlands. This reposado, a step above silver tequila in complexity but not as oak-heavy as an añejo, offers a harmonious blend of agave essence and oak influence. Crafted with dedication, the tequila rests for eight months in American white oak barrels, which imparts a warm vanilla undertone and a hint of spice, complementing the natural sweetness of the agave. Expect a smooth yet rich profile, with subtle notes of dried fruit and a whisper of toasted nuts that linger on the palate. With an ABV of 40%, Don Julio Reposado stands as a versatile spirit, equally delightful sipped neat or as the star in a cocktail. When savored on its own, a caballito or rocks glass is perfect for appreciating its aromatic depth. It shines when served neat or over a single large ice cube to gently mellow the boldness without diluting its nuanced flavors. A slice of lime or a pinch of salt can enhance the tasting experience, offering a classic yet refined approach to enjoying this tequila. For those who appreciate a crafted cocktail, Don Julio Reposado brings an elevated touch to your traditional favorites. It makes a distinguished Margarita, where its oak-aged character balances the tartness of lime and the sweetness of orange liqueur. In a Paloma, it pairs beautifully with grapefruit soda, providing a refreshing and slightly bitter counterpoint to the tequila's rich notes. For a simpler serve, a Ranch Water with mineral water and a squeeze of lime lets the reposado's flavors shine through with clarity. No matter the choice, this tequila promises an authentic taste of Jalisco's highlands, perfect for those who value quality and craftsmanship in every sip.

Glad your brother enjoyed the Don Julio Reposado! If he likes that style, try bringing home the Anejo next time. - Dan

Straight up, neat. Very smooth but just a touch sweet for me. Still solid stuff though, would go back if I wanted something mellower than my usual.
