Description
818 Reposado tequila offers an enticing blend of tradition and contemporary craftsmanship, hailing from the renowned tequila-producing region of Jalisco, Mexico. This agave spirit embodies the essence of its terroir, with each bottle reflecting the sun-soaked fields where the blue agave plants are carefully cultivated. The Reposado expression undergoes a meticulous aging process, spending a minimum of two months in oak barrels. This imparts a delicate balance of flavors that seamlessly melds the characteristic agave brightness with the warmth of vanilla and a hint of oak. Upon tasting, expect a smooth entry that gracefully transitions into a gently spiced finish, showcasing the complexity and elegance that aging brings. While the vanilla and oak notes are prominent, they do not overshadow the agave's natural sweetness and slightly peppery undertones. This makes 818 Reposado a versatile spirit, equally suitable for sipping neat or as a key ingredient in cocktails that benefit from its nuanced flavor profile. For those looking to enjoy 818 Reposado in its purest form, serving it neat in a caballito glass allows the flavors to fully develop with each sip. However, its balanced character also makes it a delightful base for classic tequila cocktails. Consider crafting a Margarita to let the spirit's vanilla notes complement the citrus elements, or a Paloma where its subtle oakiness can play against the brightness of grapefruit. For a refreshing touch, a Ranch Water with a splash of lime and a touch of mineral water highlights its smooth, inviting nature. Whether enjoyed on its own or as the heart of a mixed drink, 818 Reposado captures the spirit of Jalisco with each pour, offering a taste of tradition and modernity in perfect harmony.

-
One of the better reposados on my shelf lately. Really easy to drink straight.

Usually grab Espolon but gave 818 a shot. Smoother, little more sweet on the finish. Worked well in palomas but maybe a touch less punch than I like for sipping.
Response from CBC Liquors, Westford
Espolon fans usually notice that sweeter finish too. Next time you want more edge, try Olmeca Altos Reposado instead. - Tom
