Downeast Overboard Mixed Berry

DOWNEAST's Overboard Mixed Berry cider brings a refreshing twist to the traditional cider experience with its bold, naturally cloudy appearance and vibrant berry profile. Crafted in Massachusetts, this unfiltered cider captures the essence of ripe berries, offering a flavorful medley that includes the sweetness of strawberries, the tartness of raspberries, and the deep richness of blackberries. With an alcohol by volume (ABV) of 8%, it strikes a pleasing balance between robust flavor and refreshing drinkability, making it an intriguing choice for those who appreciate a fruit-forward beverage. The beauty of Overboard Mixed Berry lies in its lack of filtration, resulting in a naturally cloudy cider that retains all the goodness of its fruit components. This gives it a full-bodied texture and a naturally sweet-tart taste that lingers. While it carries an International Bitterness Unit (IBU) of 0, expect a purely fruit-driven profile without the bite of bitterness, allowing the mixed berry flavors to shine through unimpeded. For the optimal tasting experience, serve this cider chilled at a temperature between 45°F and 50°F. This range helps to accentuate its fruity notes while maintaining its crisp, refreshing character. A pint glass or a tulip glass would serve well to capture the cider's aromatic profile, allowing the bouquet of berries to greet your senses as you take each sip. When it comes to pairing, Overboard Mixed Berry is versatile enough to complement a variety of dishes. It pairs excellently with grilled chicken or pork, where the fruitiness can enhance the savory flavors. For lighter fare, consider matching it with a fresh summer salad or a fruit-driven dessert like berry tarts. Its fruity palate also makes it a suitable accompaniment to creamy cheeses, offering a delightful contrast that elevates both the cider and the dish.
