North Coast Old Rasputin

Old Rasputin, crafted by North Coast Brewing in California, stands as a distinguished example of the Russian Imperial Stout style. This dark beer, with its formidable 9.0% ABV and assertive 75 IBUs, is renowned for its depth and complexity. Expect a hearty, full-bodied experience characterized by an intricate blend of roasted malt flavors, a hint of espresso, and a touch of dark chocolate. The high alcohol content contributes to a warming finish, making it a suitable companion for cooler evenings. The robust nature of Old Rasputin pairs remarkably well with hearty dishes. Consider matching it with a rich beef stew or a well-marbled steak to complement its bold flavors. For a vegetarian option, try it alongside a mushroom risotto or a sharp cheddar cheese that can stand up to its intensity. The stout's roasted notes also offer a delightful contrast to desserts like a decadent chocolate cake or a creamy tiramisu, enhancing the sweet flavors with its dark, malty undertones. Serving Old Rasputin at the optimal temperature of around 50-55°F allows its complex flavors to shine. Pour it into a snifter or tulip glass to concentrate its rich aromas and fully appreciate its robust character. With each sip, this stout delivers a remarkable balance of bitterness and malt sweetness, making it a must-try for enthusiasts of dark, powerful beers. Whether you're a seasoned stout lover or exploring the style for the first time, Old Rasputin promises an undeniably memorable experience rooted in its traditional craftsmanship.
