Toppling Goliath Oktoberfest Lager

Brewed in the heartland of Iowa, Toppling Goliath's Oktoberfest Lager is a seasonal tribute to the time-honored festivities celebrated worldwide. With an ABV of 5.6% and an IBU of 30, this lager strikes a harmonious balance between a malt-forward profile and a subtle hop bitterness. The beer pours a golden amber hue, inviting you to take in its bready malt aroma, which is typical of the Märzen style. The initial sip reveals a medium-bodied lager with notes of toasted bread and caramel, finishing with a hint of noble hop spice that cleanses the palate. This Oktoberfest Lager pairs brilliantly with hearty dishes and traditional German fare. Consider serving it alongside grilled bratwurst, sauerkraut, or a pretzel with mustard, where its malty richness complements the saltiness and spice of these foods. For those who prefer to explore beyond the traditional, it also pairs well with a sharp cheddar or roasted chicken, enhancing the savory and umami flavors without overpowering them. To truly appreciate the nuances of this lager, serve it at a temperature between 45-50°F. The cooler temperature allows the malt and hop characteristics to shine without muting the beer's refreshing qualities. Pour it into a dimpled beer stein or a willibecher glass, both of which are ideal for showcasing the beer's color while maintaining a generous head to capture its aromas. Toppling Goliath, while known for its IPAs and barrel-aged stouts, demonstrates its versatility with this expertly crafted Oktoberfest Lager. It's a testament to the brewery's dedication to quality and their ability to honor traditional styles with a unique touch. Whether you're celebrating Oktoberfest or just enjoying a crisp fall evening, this lager is sure to please those who appreciate a well-balanced, flavorful beer.
