Kit NA Blonde Ale

KIT's NA Blonde Ale is a non-alcoholic take on one of the most approachable ale styles. Blonde ales are built around a pale, lightly bready malt base with restrained hopping, so the beer is meant to be easy to drink. The details on file don't list an ABV, IBU or hop varieties, so what follows describes the style rather than a measured profile. Expect a pale gold colour, a soft grainy-sweet malt character with notes of cracker or light biscuit, and a gentle hop presence that leans floral, herbal or faintly citrusy instead of resinous. Bitterness in blonde ales usually stays low to moderate, and non-alcoholic versions often finish a little lighter and slightly sweeter than their full-strength counterparts, so a clean, quick finish is a reasonable expectation. This style works best with food that doesn't overpower it. Grilled chicken, fish tacos, fried calamari, soft pretzels, mild washed-rind or fresh cheeses like mozzarella and young cheddar, and green salads with a light vinaigrette all fit. The malt sweetness also holds up against moderately spicy dishes, such as a mild curry or buffalo wings, where the carbonation helps clear the palate. Very heavy or smoky dishes will likely flatten its subtler flavours. Serve it properly chilled, around 3 to 6°C (38 to 43°F). That keeps the malt crisp and the carbonation lively without muting the hop aroma. Pour into a standard pint glass, a tulip, or a stemmed pilsner glass. A slightly tapered glass is a good choice because it concentrates the delicate hop and grain aromas and supports the head. Pour at an angle, straighten the glass partway through, and leave the last bit of any sediment in the bottle or can.
