Lagunitas Maximus

MAXIMUS by Lagunitas is a distinguished Imperial IPA hailing from California, USA, that commands attention with its intense hop character and meticulous balance. At 9.0% ABV and 72 IBU, this beer delivers a robust and intricate profile, making it a remarkable choice for those who appreciate the depth of a true Imperial IPA. The pronounced hop presence is expected in this style, typically yielding vibrant citrus notes intertwined with a piney complexity. Serving MAXIMUS at the optimal temperature of 45-50°F allows its nuanced flavors to truly shine. Pour it into a tulip or snifter glass to enhance its aromatic profile, capturing the full essence of its hops while showcasing its rich golden hue. Such glassware not only emphasizes the beer's aromatic layers but also concentrates its head, maintaining the freshness of each sip. When it comes to food pairings, MAXIMUS finds its match in bold, flavorful dishes. Think spicy barbecue ribs, which can stand up to and complement its hop-forward intensity, or a sharp cheddar cheese that will balance its bitterness. For those exploring more adventurous pairings, a Thai green curry could draw out the beer’s inherent citrus elements, creating an exciting contrast. Lagunitas' MAXIMUS is an exemplary representation of an Imperial IPA, delivering a satisfying experience that is as bold as it is refined. Whether you’re a seasoned IPA enthusiast or new to the Imperial style, this beer offers an exploration into the complexities of hops and malt, grounded in the vibrant beer culture of California.
