Description

Berkshire Brewing's Life on Märzen is a quintessential representation of the traditional Märzen-style lager, crafted with care in Massachusetts. As a seasonal offering, this beer warmly embraces the classic elements that define an Oktoberfest brew. With an ABV of 5.6% and an IBU of 20, it promises a balanced and approachable taste experience. The malt-forward profile gives this lager its characteristic rich, toasty, and caramel-like flavors, which are complemented by a gentle hop bitterness that provides a smooth finish. As you pour Life on Märzen, the amber hue and creamy head invite you to savor its depth. Best served cold, at temperatures between 45 to 50 degrees Fahrenheit, this lager reveals more of its nuanced malt sweetness as it warms slightly in the glass. For optimal enjoyment, consider using a traditional dimpled beer mug or a stein, which not only honors the Oktoberfest tradition but also captures the full aroma and effervescence of the beer. When it comes to food pairings, Life on Märzen truly shines alongside hearty, robust dishes. Its malt richness complements the savory nature of grilled sausages, roast pork, and smoked meats. The subtle hop notes play well with tangy sauerkraut and the creamy texture of German potato salad, enhancing the overall dining experience. Whether you're celebrating Oktoberfest or simply enjoying a crisp autumn day, this brew offers a taste that marries tradition with a touch of local Massachusetts flair.

Had this sitting outside when it started getting chilly, definitely feels like early fall in a glass. Wish they canned it so I could bring some to bonfires.

You nailed the season for this one. If you're after something you can take along, check out Night Shift's festbier next time.

Usually a Jack's Abby Copper Legend guy for Oktoberfest but Life on Marzen holds its own. Not quite as rich, but super drinkable and good with soft pretzels.
