Description
Irish Apple by Proper Twelve introduces a novel twist to the world of flavored whiskeys. This enticing spirit melds the quintessential smoothness of traditional Irish whiskey with the bright, crisp tartness of fresh apples. The result is a lively, refreshing blend that offers an innovative approach to a classic whiskey profile while retaining the signature character of its roots. On the nose, expect a gentle waft of ripe apple intertwined with subtle hints of oak and vanilla, inviting you to explore further. When sipped neat, the apple notes are pronounced yet harmoniously balanced with the underlying warmth of the whiskey, creating a crisp and invigorating finish. For those who prefer a slightly diluted experience, serving it on the rocks or with a splash of water can mellow the sweetness and amplify the subtle complexities hidden within the blend. Irish Apple shines in cocktails, where its vibrant fruit notes can elevate traditional recipes. It breathes new life into a Whiskey Sour, adding a fruity dimension that pairs beautifully with the tart citrus elements. In an Old Fashioned, its apple character provides a refreshing contrast to the bitters and sugar, offering a delightful variation on the classic. A Highball made with Irish Apple and club soda makes for an exceptionally refreshing drink, perfect for those who enjoy a lighter cocktail option. For the optimal tasting experience, a Glencairn glass is recommended for nosing to fully appreciate the aromatic nuances of this whiskey. When serving as a cocktail or on the rocks, a sturdy rocks glass will allow you to enjoy the full depth of its flavors. Whether you’re a seasoned whiskey enthusiast or new to the world of flavored spirits, Irish Apple by Proper Twelve is an inviting choice that brings a fresh perspective to the table.

-
Nice surprise for early spring when you want something lighter after dinner. Apple comes through, not too heavy, good over rocks.
-
Was expecting more of a whiskey kick but the apple really stands out. Not bad, just sweeter than I figured. Tried it over ice, would work in a cocktail for sure.

The apple does take center stage in this one. If you want something with a bit more whiskey heat, maybe check out the Bushmills Red Bush next time.
