Jacks Abby Hoponius Union

Hoponius Union by Jack's Abby is an intriguing exploration of the lager style, crafted in the heart of Massachusetts. As a 6.5% ABV India Pale Lager, it uniquely bridges the gap between hop-forward IPAs and crisp, refreshing lagers. With an IBU of 65, Hoponius Union offers a pronounced yet balanced bitterness, making it an excellent choice for those who appreciate a robust hop profile without sacrificing the smooth finish characteristic of a lager. Pouring a golden hue with a frothy head, this beer emits vibrant aromas of citrus and pine, hinting at the American hops used in its creation. On the palate, expect a harmonious blend of tropical fruit notes, a touch of malt sweetness, and a clean, refreshing finish. It's this intriguing combination of flavors and textures that sets Hoponius Union apart, offering a fresh perspective on what a lager can be. For the optimal experience, serve Hoponius Union at a temperature between 45-50°F, which allows the hop aromas to shine while maintaining the lager's crispness. A traditional pint glass is ideal for this brew, with its wide mouth allowing for the full release of the beer's aromatic qualities. When it comes to food pairings, this India Pale Lager complements dishes that feature bold flavors. Try it with spicy grilled shrimp, tangy barbecue chicken, or a hearty pepperoni pizza to enhance your meal with its balanced bitterness and refreshing finish. Whether you're exploring the nuances of craft lagers or seeking a hop-forward alternative to your usual IPA, Hoponius Union provides a distinctive experience that captures the innovative spirit of Jack's Abby's brewing tradition.
