Description
Weller Full Proof Bourbon stands as a testament to the rich tradition of Kentucky bourbon-making. With an assertive 57% ABV, this bourbon is crafted for those who appreciate a powerful yet nuanced sip. Its bold character reveals layers of caramel sweetness and deep oaky notes, offering a robust palate that appeals to seasoned bourbon enthusiasts. Each sip is an exploration of intense flavors, where the warmth of the higher proof intensifies the experience without overwhelming the senses. When considering how best to enjoy Weller Full Proof, serving it neat is a compelling choice to fully appreciate its depth. The undiluted expression allows the caramel and oak to prominently feature, bringing out the bourbon’s natural warmth. For those seeking a subtle transformation, a splash of water can open up additional aromas and soften its fiery edge, making it a versatile choice for varied preferences. In terms of cocktails, Weller Full Proof Bourbon makes an exceptional base for a classic Old Fashioned. The higher proof holds its own against the sweetness of sugar and the zest of bitters, resulting in a balanced cocktail with a rich, hearty finish. It also shines in a Manhattan, where its robust nature complements the vermouth’s herbal complexity, creating a cocktail that is both sophisticated and satisfying. To truly savor Weller Full Proof, a Glencairn glass is recommended for nosing, allowing the intricate aromas to concentrate at the rim. For those who prefer to linger over their pour, a rocks glass offers the perfect vessel, especially if you choose to enjoy it over ice. Whether neat or in a crafted cocktail, this bourbon delivers a full-bodied experience that is quintessentially Kentucky.

Pretty hot on the first sip but mellows out after some ice. Definitely packs a punch for a Weller. Not one I'd want neat all night but it's solid with a splash of water.

Ice is the way to go with Full Proof, totally agree. Next time try it in an old fashioned for something different. - Marie
