Pierre Ferrand Dry Curacao

Pierre Ferrand Dry Curaçao is a liqueur crafted with precision and a nod to tradition, hailing from the renowned Grande Champagne region in Cognac, France. The creation of this distinct liqueur takes inspiration from a 19th-century recipe, brought to life through the collaboration with cocktail historian David Wondrich. The heart of this liqueur is its infusion of bitter laraha orange peels, which are carefully steeped in grape spirit for a week before undergoing distillation. The result is an orange distillate that carries a vibrant, zesty character. Beyond the citrus infusion, Pierre Ferrand's master blenders incorporate complexity by introducing a vegetal infusion crafted from walnut skins and prunes. This unique element is steeped in both brandy and Pierre Ferrand cognac over several months, adding layers of depth and a hint of earthy sweetness. To balance these robust flavors, toasted cane sugar that has been barrel-aged for months is used, creating a subtle sweetness that complements rather than overpowers. A versatile component in the world of mixology, Dry Curaçao is equally suited for sipping on its own as a digestif or as a crucial modifier in classic cocktails. Its rich, bittersweet notes make it an exceptional ingredient in a Mai Tai, enhancing the cocktail’s fruity profile. For a refreshing twist, serve it neat or over ice, and consider adding a splash of soda to elevate its aromatic qualities and expand its flavor palette. This liqueur pairs wonderfully with a variety of dishes, particularly those with a touch of citrus or spice, making it an excellent companion at the dining table or behind the bar. Pierre Ferrand Dry Curaçao, with its 40% ABV, stands as a testament to traditional craftsmanship and innovative blending, offering a sophisticated profile that invites exploration and creativity in every glass.
