Mingle Cranberry Cosmo

Mingle Cranberry Cosmo is a 0.0% ABV mocktail mixer from Mingle Mocktails, made to reproduce the Cosmopolitan without the spirits. The reference point is a classic Cosmo, so expect the tart cranberry and citrus that define the style, with a dry, puckering edge rather than a juice-box sweetness. Mixers in this category usually lean on the cranberry for color and acidity, so a bright red-pink pour with a sharp, clean finish is the sensible expectation. Serve it cold, since chilling and dilution are what shape a Cosmo-style drink. Pour it into a shaker over plenty of ice, shake hard for about ten to fifteen seconds, and strain into a chilled glass. Shaking adds a little aeration and softens the tartness slightly. If you'd rather skip the shaker, build it over ice in a rocks glass, which gives a longer, more diluted drink that stays cold. For the traditional presentation, use a coupe or a stemmed cocktail glass. The stem keeps your hand from warming the drink, and the wide bowl brings the citrus aroma forward. Garnish with a flamed or expressed orange peel, or a thin lime wheel, to echo the citrus in the mix. A tall glass with ice and a splash of sparkling water or tonic turns it into a lighter spritz-style drink. At the table, the tartness suits salty and rich food. Try it with a charcuterie board, soft cheeses like brie or goat cheese, salted nuts, shrimp cocktail or sushi. Because the mix is built on cranberry, it also pairs naturally with roast turkey and holiday spreads, where it does the job of a cranberry sauce in drink form. Keep a bottle in the fridge ahead of time so the first pour is already cold.
