de Halve Maan Brugse Zot

Brugse Zot is a quintessential Belgian Style Beer crafted by De Halve Maan, a revered family brewery nestled in the historic town of Bruges. This beer is a testament to the rich brewing heritage of the region, revitalized in 2005 under the guidance of Veronique Maes. Known for its unique recipe, Brugse Zot stands out as the sole beer brewed within Bruges' city center, offering enthusiasts a genuine taste of local tradition. With an ABV of 6% and an IBU of 23, it strikes a harmonious balance between a mild bitterness and a delightful, fruity complexity. The character of Brugse Zot is defined by its vibrant blend of maltiness and hop-derived aromas, which are typical of Belgian-style beers. Expect subtle notes of ripe fruit dancing alongside a slightly spicy undertone, creating a refreshing and well-rounded profile. The malts contribute a gentle sweetness, complemented by the hoppy nuances that add depth without overwhelming the palate. To fully appreciate the nuanced flavors of Brugse Zot, serve it at a temperature between 45°F and 50°F. This range allows the beer's intricate notes to unfold gradually, offering a richer tasting experience. The choice of glassware is equally important; a traditional tulip glass is recommended, as its shape captures the beer's aromatic qualities while promoting a generous head, enhancing the overall sensory experience. Pair Brugse Zot with dishes that resonate with its flavorsome profile. It harmonizes beautifully with creamy cheeses, grilled seafood, and dishes featuring mild spices or herbal accents. The beer’s fruity essence complements the savory richness of these foods, making for a delightful dining experience. Whether you're indulging in a casual meal or a more refined culinary affair, Brugse Zot brings a touch of Bruges' storied brewing tradition to your table.
