Description
ROC DE SEGUR Bordeaux is a testament to the craftsmanship and tradition of its storied French region. This red wine presents a harmonious blend characteristic of classic Bordeaux, with an expert mix of grape varieties that yield a wine of notable finesse. At 13.0% ABV, it strikes a fine balance between depth and drinkability, making it a fitting choice for both casual sipping and more refined gatherings. Expect a profile where ripe red fruits like cherry and plum take center stage, enveloped by subtle notes of cedar and earthy undertones typical of Bordeaux's terroir. The wine's body is medium, offering a pleasant mouthfeel that's both soft and structured, while tannins are well-integrated, providing a smooth yet firm texture. Its acidity is fresh, lending a vibrant lift that carries through to a clean, lingering finish that hints at spices and mineral notes. Serve ROC DE SEGUR Bordeaux slightly below room temperature, ideally around 60-65°F. This will enhance its aromatic profile and allow its flavors to unfurl gracefully. Although decanting isn't strictly necessary, allowing the wine to breathe for 20-30 minutes can deepen its complexity and soften its tannins, particularly if you choose to enjoy it with a hearty meal. In terms of pairing, this Bordeaux shines alongside classic French cuisine such as coq au vin or beef bourguignon, where its balanced tannins and acidity cut through the richness of the dishes. It also complements a selection of aged cheeses, offering a delightful contrast to the creaminess and tang of the cheese. For glassware, a traditional Bordeaux glass with a large bowl and tapered top will help concentrate its aromas, ensuring you capture every nuance with each sip. While this wine is ready to drink now, it also has the potential to age gracefully for a few more years, evolving in complexity with time.
Customer reviews
Tried this at my cousin's place last month and came back for it. Good basic Bordeaux, works well on pasta nights.
Expected this to be a little bolder, but actually really easy drinking. Opened it with roast chicken, finished the bottle by the end of the meal. Solid for the price.

That roast chicken pairing sounds perfect. If you ever want something a touch richer, try the Chateau Moulin de Mallet next time. - Tom
