Surfside Blackberry Half & Half + Vodka

Surfside Blackberry Half & Half + Vodka is a canned ready-to-drink cocktail, not a bottle of vodka for mixing. It takes the half-and-half idea, iced tea and lemonade in equal measure, adds blackberry flavor, and blends in vodka. At 4.5% ABV it sits in the range of a hard seltzer or a light beer, much lower than a spirit-strength pour. It is made in the United States. The format suggests what to expect. Iced tea gives a dry, slightly tannic backbone, lemonade adds tartness and sweetness, and the blackberry should push the profile toward dark-fruit, jammy notes rather than a bright citrus-only taste. The vodka is there for alcohol, not character, so don't expect grain or potato flavors the way you would from a bottle. Specific tasting notes and sweetness level aren't given in the product details, so treat this as the typical shape of a drink in this style. Serve it cold, straight from the fridge or poured over a full glass of ice. A tall glass or a rocks glass with a few ice cubes works well, and a lemon wedge or a few fresh blackberries make a simple garnish. Because it is already mixed, there is no recipe to follow. If you want to adjust it, a splash of soda water will lighten the sweetness, and a squeeze of fresh lemon will sharpen it. Its tea-and-lemonade profile suits warm-weather food such as grilled chicken, burgers, barbecue, salads and sharp cheeses. It also works at a cookout or on the water, where a lighter, lower-alcohol drink in a can is easier to carry than a bottle and mixers.
