Good Word Analog Life

Analog Life is a specialty beer from Good Word, brewed in Georgia, United States. The listing doesn't name a style, ABV or IBU, so the tasting guidance below is general to the specialty-beer category. Check the can or bottle label for the exact style and strength before pairing or serving. Specialty beers usually depart from the standard pale ale or lager template. Expect a more distinctive profile, often a pronounced hop aroma, a fuller malt body, added fruit or adjuncts, or a mix of these. Look for the balance between malt sweetness and bitterness first, then any aromatic character such as citrus, tropical fruit, resin, toast or spice. For serving, a cellar-cool temperature of about 45 to 50°F (7 to 10°C) suits most specialty beers. It keeps the aromatics readable and stops the flavors going flat and muted, which is what happens when a beer is served ice-cold. If the label points to a lighter, crisper style, the cooler end of that range, around 40 to 45°F, is a safe choice. An aromatic tulip or a shaped pint glass works well here. Both narrow toward the rim to hold the aroma and support the head. Pour in a steady stream down the side of a tilted glass, then straighten it to build a modest head. At the table, beers like this generally do well with grilled sausages, roasted chicken, sharp cheddar or washed-rind cheeses, and spiced dishes. Bitter, malty or fruity notes can then either cut through richness or echo the seasoning.
